The arrival lounge revamp at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport reimagines the first point of arrival as a calm, welcoming, and distinctly Kolkata experience. Conceived as a contemporary indoor landscape, the design introduces lush planters, curated public art, and generous seating zones within a light-filled double-height volume. A palette of glass, metal, and greenery creates a balance between efficiency and warmth, while sculptural installations provide memorable visual anchors for arriving passengers. The open layout improves wayfinding and passenger movement, transforming waiting areas into comfortable social spaces. Integrated lighting and biophilic elements soften the scale of the terminal, enhancing user comfort. The intervention elevates the arrival experience, creating a functional yet engaging environment that reflects the city's evolving identity.
